Motion Computing Hires UK Business Development Manager



Pen computing veteran Andy Toal adds bite to sales drive for the industry’s only major ‘pure’ slate Tablet PC company

LONDON - October 01, 2003– Motion Computing – a tablet PC innovator and third largest provider of slate-style products in theU.S.– today announced it has hired pen computing veteranAndy Toalas business development manager for theUK&Ireland.
 
Motion’s newest recruit has been working with pen-based computing devices since their inception in the late 1980s bringing with him a wealth of Tablet PC and sales experience. He will report to Peter Lewis, Motion’s international business development manager.
 
“ We were very particular in our search wanting somebody who could understand what a ‘pure slate’ tablet PC can do for the market,” said Peter Lewis. “Andy’s real strength lies in his work on major IT projects throughoutNorthern Europeand how their success hinges around solving real business problems. Andy will be working to further establish channel partners to meet the needs of our vertical focus in sales force automation, utilities, government, healthcare and education,” he added.
 
The Motion range of products utilizes a lightweight, ultra mobile and durable slate design similar in size to a spiral bound notebook. Motion products feature a 12.1-inch display and its most powerful models leverage each component of the Intel Centrino mobile technology: an ultra-low-voltage Pentium M processor running from 900Mhz to 1Ghz, the Intel 855 chipset and the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection for Wi-Fi connectivity to thousands of wireless “hotspots.”
